If you stay in Croatia up to 90 days (3 months), you need only the passport. But, citizens of some countries also need visa to enter Republic of Croatia.
Visas for Croatia are issued in the embassies and consulates of Republic of Croatia. In some special cases, a visa can also be issued at the border crossings of Republic of Croatia.
You don’t need special vaccinations to enter Croatia.
Children must have either their own passports or they must be registered in the passport of one of the parents. Pets must have a certificate or a document confirming taken vaccines.

Customs regulations of the Republic of Croatia are in accordance with the standards of European Union countries.
Foreign currency and cheques are freely brought in and taken out of the country; only higher quantities of money should be reported to the authorities. To specify: amounts exceeding the value of 5420,00 €; as well as amounts of domestic currency over 15 000 kn – require a special approval of the
Croatian National Bank (HNB - Hrvatska Narodna Banka).
Personal things are not dutiable, but you have to declare professional equipment and technical appliances of higher value at customs.
Dogs and cats, accompanied by their owner, need to have an International certificate from a registered veterinarian stating that at least 15 days and not more than six months have passed since their last vaccination against rabies.
Tax return to the foreign citizens for goods bought in amount higher than 500 HRK is possible with appropriate form confirmed when they go out from the country.
Currency and payment
Official currency in Croatia is Kuna (HRK). 1 Kuna = 100 Lipa. Exchange rate of Kuna is rather stable and amounts to approx. 1 Euro = 7,30 HRK or 1 HRK = 0,14 Euro.
You can exchange foreign currency in the banks, exchange offices, post offices and bankomats. You can convert Euro-cheque into money only in the banks.
Usual work time of the banks: Monday – Friday from 8.00 a.m. to 7.00 p.m., Saturday from 8.00 a.m. to 1.00 p.m.
You can find the exchange offices and bankomates in all bigger towns and in most of smaller places.You can pay the goods you buy either by cash in Croatian currency or by credit cards.
Standard credit cards such as – Eurocard/Mastercard, Visa, American Express and Diners are usual method of payment in Croatia. You can get cash advance from your credit cards from the bankomats.
Mobile (GSM) telephone networks
There are three mobile telephone networks operating in Croatia:

- Tele 2 ( code 095 )
- VIP (code 091)
All networks have good signal coverage as well as roaming agreements concluded with about a hundred of GSM operators from over 50 countries.
